USC needs to have the classic look. King of Consistency Members 10,716 Share this post 0 22 I like the shiny pants much better. Its like a modern take on the classic look. The ones they are wearing this year look like practice pants. I watched all but one SC game last year, and during the game saturday, i couldnt figure out what was different with the pants. It will be an even bigger upgrade with the home jersey. Now as a player id rather have shiny pants. More comfortable, and harder to tackle (slicker, trust me, HUGE difference for a defender). It used to be a yellow logo on the helmet with shiny gold pants. Posted September 6, 2006 1 Share this post 888 sorry if this has been posted already but the forum is acting up and i want to get this post in before it shuts down again. anyway…USC has new “non-shiny” pants this year. take a look…20052006i think its a good upgrade. with the classic throwback uniforms they are wearing it fits better, just like the pants of the NY Giants. what do you call this kind of non shiny pant? I do think that USC could ditch the candy gloss finish from their helmets and either use a flat or pro-gloss finish. It seems to blend in better with the flat pants. 15,125 posts Link to post Posted September 6, 2006 Share this post 0 Share this post Share on other sites 145 0 STL FANATIC SportsLogos.Net duma Followers 0 10,716 4,646 posts Posted September 6, 2006 Link to post Posted September 6, 2006 0 Posted September 6, 2006 15,125 posts Posted September 6, 2006 Edited September 6, 2006 by bills2005 0 100 posts 0 STL FANATIC 0 7 145 Posted September 6, 2006 2,568 posts 0 Share on other sites 0 10 posts Posted September 6, 2006 The flat finish causes the yellow to be bright and garish. The shine actually served to dull down the yellow and made it look nice. This is a slight downgrade. STL FANATIC Edited September 6, 2006 by duma grubstreet I think they look great, and a lot of teams with gold colors could take a hint (Georgia Tech…)Georgia Tech’s gold metallic (or “old gold”) team color is nothing like the yellow-gold used in USC’s color scheme, so that argument is moot. I was just referring to the varitable golden shower I witnessed while watching the ND-GT game, it was almost nauseating. I just think GT would be better served to go back to that flat, darker gold, kinda like Mizzou’s; more like the color they used to wear in the old days. 145 1 0 Chazberg 0 The artist formally known as Bucfan56 Share on other sites 2,347 posts SportsLogos.Net Link to post Chazberg 145 I think it is a definite upgrade.Anytime we can get the logo and pants to actually have the same color yellow (what a conept), it’s an upgrade. 1 2,287 posts 0 Share this post Forums Home 950 Share on other sites Share this post Link to post i wonder how close the yellow in usc, michigan, and lsu’s uniforms is. all are done by nike, and all have that almost highlighter yellow feel. i know that each has its own specific color…just an observation. I’m no PANTONE, but I’m pretty sure those three schools all have different yellows. Michigan’s “maize” is a really pale yellow, LSU’s is more of a pure Crayola yellow, and USC almost has a darker, orange-ier yellow. Location:Michigan Less, but better. Mabye the slicker pants helped Reggie Bush push Leinart into the endzone @ Notre Dame Naw it doesnt make that big of a difference, but it can make it a bit more complicated on certain tackles, especially if the tackler is waering Under Armour. The pants seem much brighter than the logo now to me. Sports Logo News Share this postlast_img read more
