first_imgThe Donegal branch of Junior Chamber International (JCI) has won the bid to host this year’s national Ten Outstanding Young Person awards (TOYP).The glittering ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 13, at Harvey’s Point Hotel. JCI Donegal’s project manager, Emma Boylan, successfully pitched for the event at JCI Ireland’s national meeting in January.“This prestigious event is a great opportunity for Donegal people, and for local businesses, to network with young people who are extremely successful in both their personal lives and in business,” Ms Boylan said. “We will also being using the national awards to promote Donegal as a tourist destination, as a place to do business and to showcase local food and products. Delegates will experience a full day of training as well as a trip to Sliabh Liag.”She also stressed that members of the public can purchase tickets through eventbrite, and the awards are open to everyone who wants to experience it.Sponsored by AIB, TOYP is a drive to identify young people for their dynamism and enthusiasm in their fields. JCI Donegal is part of an international organisation aimed at attracting members aged 18-40, focusing on leadership, entrepreneurship and active citizenship. Two years ago, it landed another major coup by winning the right to host the 2015 National Convention.“We are not just about business, people join JCI to meet, learn and grow,” Ms Boylan added.“At JCI Donegal, our members come from all walks of life. They range from university students to corporate executives, self-employed professionals and business people to employees of local, multinationals and state organisations as well as the unemployed. However, all share a common goal in terms of self improvement and contribution to society.”Tickets for the convention can be purchased from For more information on the national TOYP awards, and on becoming a JCI member, log on to, contact 086 3766433 or email [email protected] can also find JCI Donegal on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.Donegal Junior Chamber chosen to host top awards was last modified: April 28th, 2017 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:AIBawardsdonegalEmma BoylanJunior Chamberlast_img read more

But this debut set makes it easy to put some family-friendly fun on the big screen for your family and friends, while they use their mobile devices as directional or motion controllers. The thumb-sized streaming gadget also boasts support from two new premium TV channels. Showtime Anytime and Starz join the fold, which is great news if you want to binge-watch Homeland or want to catch Outlander. Like the HBO GO app, these new streaming channels require a cable subscription—for now. Also like that competitor, Showtime will also debut a standalone streaming service independent of cable packages next year. (Starz may also do the same.)Chromecast development has been ramping up this year, with literally hundreds of compatible apps now. To make it easier to wade through the pile, Google organized its Chromecast apps page with new categories covering compatible iPhone and Android apps. Now they’re sorted into New, TV & Movies, Music & Audio, Games, Sports, Media & Video and More. Harking back to its launch, when Google bundled free Netflix services for Chromecast customers, the company’s sweetening the pot again—this time with two free months of Hulu Plus and 90 days of the Google Play All Access Music service.
