The land has to be zoned. The current zoning is C3 (commercial business zone) and the site will be zoned to RM2 (high density residential). JOHN, B.C. – BC Housing is now taking the next steps towards breaking ground on the Site C Affordable Housing project.A spokesperson with BC Housing says they originally issued a request for information back in March of 2015. The proposed site is at 9404 93 Avenue. “BC Housing publicly issued a Request for Information on March 6, 2015, encouraging proponents to submit information about a potential development site suitable for the proposed housing development.”The City then gave information in response to this request for information. BC Housing says the plot was selected because of the location.“The location was selected based on its central location within the city-centre of Fort St. John, its proximity to services and suitability to the development of a 50 unit affordable housing project.”- Advertisement -BC Housing says they have made an offer to buy the land from the City.
