Trinamool leader Madan MitraIt has been known for long. And now the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) chargesheet in the Saradha scam has confirmed the nexus between the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal and the chitfund group. The chargesheet has revealed how a media house, Pratidin Prakashani, was used to promote the deposit collection business of the Saradha Group. The media house, which had Trinamool leader Srinjoy Bose as one of its editors, managed the editorial content of a television channel. Through the television channel, Saradha Group showed that its deposit collection business had Pratidin’s backing. A prominent Trinamool leader appeared in a television programme to promote the Saradha Group as well.Loot businessThe chargesheet, a copy of which is in possession of MAIL TODAY, also revealed that Trinamool leader and West Bengal Sports Minister Madan Mitra, along with Bose and suspended Trinamool MP Kunal Ghosh, abetted the loot of investors’ money by Saradha Group. The second supplementary chargesheet, which was filed in February, said both Bose and Ghosh had clear knowledge about Saradha’s actual business. The probe revealed that in June 2010, when reports started emerging about illegal chitfund companies in the state, a meeting between Trinamool leaders Bose and Ghosh, and Saradha kingpin Sudipta Sen was held. Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on September 8 of 2010 between Bengal Media Pvt Ltd and Pratidin Prakashani Private Ltd. Bose was the editor of the newspaper Sangbad Pratidin of the Pratidin Prakashani. As per the MoU, both the parties agreed to run Channel 10 jointly, wherein the editorial content of the television channel was the responsibility of Pratidin. “Thus the main source of funding in compliance to the conditions of the agreement with Pratidin House was from M/S Saradha Chargesheet reveals TMC-Saradha nexus SANDEEP ADHWARYU Realty India Ltd, which was raising deposits from public illegally through various investment schemes under the garb of selling products and services?” the chargesheet said.advertisement”Investigation further disclosed that Channel 10 used to provide support to the deposit collection business of the Saradha Group by creating an impression about the sound business of the group. The channel was also used to counterbalance any adverse publicity against illegal deposit collection business of Saradha Group,” it pointed out.The chargesheet added that in one such programme, aired on Channel 10, Kunal Ghosh had appeared and very strongly supported the business of Saradha Group. “It would be pertinent to mention here that Kunal Ghosh was appointed CEO by Channel 10 with manifold increase in his salary? The circumstances above support the contention that the whole arrangement between Pratidin and Saradha Group was ill-designed?” the chargesheet added.Referring to Madan Mitra, the chargesheet says: “During 2009 Madan Mitra was invited by Sudipta Sen to his Saradha Garden project where Mitra visited and addressed a gathering? in his speech Mitra praised Sudipta Sen for bringing employment opportunity for the youth. He praised expansion of business of the Saradha Group and assured his support.”

Persistence of the Z=28 Shell Gap Around Ni78 : First Spectroscopy of Cu79, Physical Review Letters (2017). DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevLett.119.192501 Explore further In the world of physics, magic numbers describe protons or neutrons in orbital shells separated by the greatest energy gaps. When both protons and neutrons are magic, the nucleus is deemed doubly magic. In their never-ending search to understand matter, scientists have studied magic and doubly magic nuclei and found some to be particularly difficult to pin down. Nickel-78 is a prime example. Study has been hampered by its tendency to be short lived and the difficulty in producing it at all. In this new effort, both teams have resorted to tricks to show that it is, indeed, doubly magic. In the first approach, the team led by Olivier used a knockout reaction to eject a proton from a zinc-80 projectile, resulting in a copper-79 nucleus. They then used shell model calculations to show that copper-79 could be characterized as a doubly magic nickel-78 nucleus with an added proton. In the second approach, the team measured the mass of the copper isotopes in a chain from copper-75 to 79 using technology at CERN. They used what they found to show that copper-79 can be characterized as an individual proton sitting atop a doubly magic nickel-78 core. While the methods used by the second team were quite different, the results were in agreement—nickel-78 is, indeed, doubly magic. This is not the end of the story, however, because both studies involved indirect approaches. Thus, nickel-78 will not be considered proven as doubly magic until it can be shown directly. To do that, some future research team will need to produce it in a lab in a way that allows for direct testing. Nickel-78 is a ‘doubly magic’ isotope, supercomputing calculations confirm (Phys.org)—Two teams of researchers working independently of one another and using wildly different approaches have confirmed nickel-78 to be doubly magic. In the first effort, an international team led by Louis Olivier with the National Institute of Nuclear and Particle Physics produced a copper-79 nucleus and used it as a framework for describing nickel-78. In the second effort, a team with members from across Europe approached the problem by using an advanced weighing technique. Both teams have published their results in the journal Physical Review Letters. As far as tech gadgets are concerned, it seems like iPhones and BlackBerry’s have all the popularity. But in the world of small-business owners (and consumers), netbook computers, with prices below $500, are increasingly popular. They’re small, affordable and functional–once you get used to the small screens and keyboards. As your company is looking into what technology to invest in, consider issuing a netbook with wireless broadband to every employee who travels. For the last two weeks, I’ve been using hosted applications exclusively, and in some ways, the experience is better than using software. One thing’s for sure: There’s a lot less to backup. The benefit of using a netbook with hosted applications is that the netbook becomes an almost disposal appliance, like a cell phone. If it’s lost or stolen, there’s no worry about data being compromised. As long as the user has access to the internet, they can access all the applications they need online. In some scenarios, using traditional software is a must. For example, try editing or viewing more than a handful of photographs online. It’s too slow.We live in a world still dominated by Microsoft Office applications. So, depending on your employees’ day-to-day work, they might have to use Word, PowerPoint or Excel and save the file to a local hard disk. But having it automatically backed up to a server or using a system such as eGnytewill ensure that everything saved to the local drive is instantly available online and easily shared with their colleagues. It’s very important that you ensure your company can also harness the world of wireless mobility and hosted applications. Your traditional server can provide remote file access or, using services such as Box.net, HyperOffice, WebExand other solutions, you can pay a low monthly fee and have file sharing features, collaboration and so much more. 2 min read Listen Now Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.
